Give Yourself Self Love – All You Knead is Love

What is a bread loaf’s favorite song?

All You Knead Is Love”  – hehehe.

February 14th is often celebrated as the day of love and romance for people in happy marriages or for couples who enjoy spoiling their special someone with sweet surprises and perhaps silly jokes to make them laugh.

An unofficial yet fun holiday version to Valentine’s Day is called ‘Galentine’s Day’, which is often dedicated to celebrating the amazing female friendships you cherish in life. Solo adventures for single folks is absolutely possible to do. Just because you’re single doesn’t mean you have to miss out on the festivities! Whether you’re in a committed relationship or not – having a healthy, happy and balanced relationship with yourself is just as necessary and should be celebrated as well!

The key is that no matter how you choose to celebrate today, be sure to have a positive mindset and shower yourself with self-love.

So, what exactly is self-love?

Self-love is having full appreciation for yourself. It stems from how well you take care of yourself mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Oftentimes, the benefits of self-love can lead to feeling inner peace, worthiness, and happiness.

Each person is unique and has their own perspective, so self-love can mean something different from one person to the next. Being able to figure out what self-love looks like for you is essential to the healing of your mind, body, and soul.

Though there might be different variations of what the framework looks like for self-love, the main pillars of self-love usually are:

Self-awareness. This is the foundation of aligning your perspective with your values and not sacrificing your own happiness and well-being in order to please others. Don’t be a people-pleaser as it will drain you of your energy. Your ability to be conscious of your actions, emotions and thoughts is empowering in itself.

  • Self-acceptance. You’re accepting, kind, empathetic and forgiving with yourself. When you turn this love intrinsically, it can be a powerful tool for emotional resilience.
  • Self-esteem. Be confident in your abilities and value your worth! Having self-respect and admiration for your own happiness is a great way to measure your success and progress into becoming the person you want to be.
  • Self-nurture. This is a daily practice of self-care and knowing how to focus and listen to your body to feel a connection into what it needs. Self-love can’t happen without nurturing yourself and it’s important to do what makes you feel happy.

Transformation. Growth is a beautiful process and it motivates us to continue to strive for what we want to achieve. It’s about being authentic, embracing change and creating a new future for yourself. Without transformation, then we are limiting ourselves in reaching our full potential. So, never stop learning and be sure to build a sustainable and fulfilling life-long practice of self-love and to help others achieve self-love as well.
